American Steel Treating was founded in 1987 by
Roy Waits and Steve Johnson. The founders continue to provide
ongoing leadership and direction to the company, serving as
President and Vice President.
American Steel Treating began as a furnace-building
company, specializing in the construction of various types of
furnaces. The specialized
professionals at American Steel Treating fully integrated the furnace systems in customer locations.
As our company continued to grow, American Steel Treating was awarded many new programs to process. American Steel Treating began introducing more and more advanced technology including robotics to transfer millions of parts per year from operation to operation.
The American Steel Treating team works closely with each customer to provide the best processes at the best cost. American Steel Treating is focused on its core competence while allowing our customers to focus on their core competence.
Our first plant, on Sixth Street, houses our Corporate Offices and has more than 110,000 square feet of space with additional property to grow. The Sixth Street plant processes more than 80 million parts per year with an outstanding record of zero defects. The second plant has more than 210,000 square feet of space with room to grow and processes more than 33 million parts per year with the same record of zero defects.
American Steel Treating is positioned for
the future with the equipment available to accommodate future significant growth. American Steel Treating has evolved into a "turn key" heat treat supplier.
